ACCOUNT RESEARCH FOR MANUFACTURING AND INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIERS SELLERS

Your parts fit. Does the buyer’s spec know that?

Alma Hunter delivers reviewed account and buyer-fit research for manufacturers—connecting documented material, process, capacity, qualification, and buyer-side cost signals without pretending a match is an OEM commitment.

The accounts. The business case. The next move.

THE PAIN / NOT ANOTHER GENERIC LIST

A capable shop can still be a spec-sheet mystery.

Before selling time becomes sunk time, test the obstacles.

Fit is more than a product name

Buyers compare materials, tolerances, processes, certifications, capacity, and delivery windows; a generic capability pitch leaves the real fit question unanswered.

Qualification has more than one gate

Engineering, quality, and purchasing may require samples, audits, testing, or capacity evidence before a technically plausible supplier is usable.

Unit price is only part of the math

Defects, rework, excess inventory, and delays can erode buyer economics; talking only unit price misses production costs buyers may be trying to control.

02 / NEXTThe obstacle becomes a research question.

WHAT ALMA HUNTER DELIVERS

Make the fit legible before the quote goes cold.

  1. 01

    Capability fit, with receipts

Map public evidence of process, material, capacity, and certification fit to likely buyer requirements—then flag what still needs direct confirmation.

  2. 02

    A clearer qualification path

Surface documented qualification steps and gaps so engineering, quality, and purchasing can judge the next question, not guess at readiness.

  3. 03

    Buyer-side value, not seller-side promises

Explore buyer-relevant use cases tied to scrap, rework, throughput, or total cost, without claiming savings before the buyer validates them.

TRACK 01

Documented capability-fit checks

Count reviewed accounts with source-backed alignment across target materials, processes, or capacity; a research completeness measure, not buyer interest.

TRACK 02

Qualification unknowns identified

Count accounts with documented or explicitly unknown approval, testing, certification, or capacity prerequisites.

TRACK 03

Buyer-cost hypotheses mapped

Count buyer use cases with evidence for a relevant cost or production issue; hypotheses require buyer validation.

Make the value real.

Fictional USD inputs for an illustrative buyer deploying a hypothetical supplier solution—not a typical budget, forecast, seller revenue, or return on buying Alma research. Gross benefit uses annual avoided units × cost per unit × realization share; the share is not project-success probability.

See formulas, evidence needed and research context

Gross benefit = potential units × economic unit value × realized share.

Full year-one cost = full upfront deployment + annual operating cost. Net = benefit − full cost. Year-one ROI = net ÷ full cost × 100. Each cost is subtracted once.

Simple upfront payback = upfront cost ÷ (annual benefit − annual operating cost) × 12 months, only if annual net benefit is positive. It assumes steady annual realization, not a discounted cash-flow forecast. Year-one break-even units = full year-one cost ÷ realized unit value.

Measure with the buyer’s own baseline and post-trial records: scrap/rework counts and their attributable material, labor, and disposal burden; validate the cost per unit and avoid double-counted savings. In this fictional example, year-one cost is upfront $12,000 + ongoing $3,000 = $15,000, counted once; gross benefit is 800 units × $100/unit × 25% = $20,000; net benefit is $5,000; ROI is net benefit ÷ year-one cost × 100 = 33.3%. Results depend on the buyer’s data and realized operational changes; this is not a guaranteed outcome.
