ACCOUNT RESEARCH FOR FLEET EFFICIENCY & TELEMATICS SELLERS

A big fleet is not a qualified buyer.

Find fleets where your solution has an operating and economic case. Research comparable fuel evidence, technical fit, buying intent and the people who must agree.

The accounts. The business case. The next move.

THE PAIN / NOT ANOTHER GENERIC LIST

Your dashboard cannot fix a weak baseline.

Before selling time becomes sunk time, test the obstacles.

Operating evidence is scattered

Fuel, mileage, routes and loads rarely arrive in one decision-ready view.

Savings claims invite scrutiny

Different routes, fuel prices and conditions can make unlike-for-like comparisons misleading.

Promising fleets still fail fit

Business need, technical compatibility, intent, timing or authority may remain unsupported.

02 / NEXTThe obstacle becomes a research question.

WHAT ALMA HUNTER DELIVERS

Research the buyer behind the vehicle count.

  1. 01

    A relevant operating priority

Connect your solution to documented fleet needs—not simply the number of trucks.

  2. 02

    Fuel economics with evidence

Value attributable avoided fuel at actual customer-paid unit cost using comparable records.

  3. 03

    A supported buying team

Research operations, finance, technical requirements and BANT unknowns before recommending pursuit.

Illustrative qualification, not a researched account. Unknowns stay unknown.

03 / NEXTA better-supported account gives your team something to measure.

THE KPIs / TRACK, DO NOT PROMISE

Better evidence.
Clearer sales decisions.

Metrics to monitor—not guaranteed lifts, meetings or sales.

TRACK 01

Buyer-value coverage

Track account-specific business cases with a documented evidence path.

TRACK 02

Role & timing coverage

Monitor relevant buying roles, project signals and unresolved questions.

TRACK 03

Fuel intensity

Compare gallons per 1,000 miles under comparable route/load conditions.

04 / NEXTThe buyer still has to win. Test the economics.

THE BUYER’S RETURN FROM YOUR SOLUTION

If the numbers don’t work,
the pitch won’t fix them.

This models your buyer’s return from your solution—not your revenue from buying leads.

Make the value real.

Normalize for routes, loads and operating conditions. Keep safety and maintenance claims separate; do not attribute all change to telematics.

See formulas, evidence needed and research context

Gross benefit = potential units × economic unit value × realized share.

Full year-one cost = full upfront deployment + annual operating cost. Net = benefit − full cost. Year-one ROI = net ÷ full cost × 100. Each cost is subtracted once.

Simple upfront payback = upfront cost ÷ (annual benefit − annual operating cost) × 12 months, only if annual net benefit is positive. It assumes steady annual realization, not a discounted cash-flow forecast. Year-one break-even units = full year-one cost ÷ realized unit value.

Verify fuel type, units, actual customer-paid cost, comparable fuel/mileage records and attribution.
