ACCOUNT RESEARCH FOR CONTACT-CENTER PLATFORMS SELLERS

Make agent time work harder—not customers wait longer.

Alma Hunter delivers reviewed account and buyer-fit research for contact-center platform sellers—not software, guaranteed leads, or a promise of sales. Identify accounts where productive agent time may matter, then validate the fit and evidence yourself.

The accounts. The business case. The next move.

THE PAIN / NOT ANOTHER GENERIC LIST

The stopwatch is not your customer-experience strategy.

Before selling time becomes sunk time, test the obstacles.

Fast calls can still be failed calls

A shorter handle time means little if customers repeat themselves, issues return, or agents rush through the conversation.

Workload comparisons get slippery

Channel, contact complexity, hold time, after-contact work, and staffing can make simple before-and-after comparisons misleading.

Efficiency needs a credible buyer case

Freed capacity is not automatically cash savings; buyers need a plausible way to redeploy time or avoid cost.

02 / NEXTThe obstacle becomes a research question.

WHAT ALMA HUNTER DELIVERS

Find the right operations buyer—not a miracle metric.

  1. 01

    Workload-aware account fit

Prioritize organizations where service channels, contact mix, and agent workload make productivity a relevant conversation.

  2. 02

    Quality stays in the frame

Pair time measures with resolution and customer-quality measures; speed alone does not establish better service.

  3. 03

    Economics buyers can inspect

Model potential value from redeployable agent hours, with fictional inputs and costs counted once—not a promised return.

THE KPIs / TRACK, DO NOT PROMISE

Better evidence.
Clearer sales decisions.

Metrics to monitor—not guaranteed lifts, meetings or sales.

TRACK 01

Workload-match coverage

Share of reviewed accounts with comparable service channels, contact mix, and agent workload verified from available evidence.

TRACK 02

Buyer-role verification

Share of reviewed accounts with relevant operations, service, or technology buyer roles corroborated from public evidence.

TRACK 03

Quality-evidence coverage

Share of reviewed accounts with documented resolution or customer-quality measures to assess alongside time metrics.

Make the value real.

Illustrative fictional USD inputs only: $50,000 upfront + $20,000 year-one ongoing cost; 1,000 productive agent-hours/year × $35/hour × 50% realization = $17,500 gross benefit; net = −$52,500; ROI = −75%. Full year-one cost = upfront + annual ongoing; gross benefit = volume × unit value × realization/100; net = benefit − cost; ROI = net/cost × 100. Realization is the share of capacity actually redeployed or value captured—not project-success probability. Count capacity as financial benefit only if the buyer validates redeployment or avoided cost; do not count costs twice.

See formulas, evidence needed and research context

Gross benefit = potential units × economic unit value × realized share.

Full year-one cost = full upfront deployment + annual operating cost. Net = benefit − full cost. Year-one ROI = net ÷ full cost × 100. Each cost is subtracted once.

Simple upfront payback = upfront cost ÷ (annual benefit − annual operating cost) × 12 months, only if annual net benefit is positive. It assumes steady annual realization, not a discounted cash-flow forecast. Year-one break-even units = full year-one cost ÷ realized unit value.

Validate against the buyer's own platform data and reporting strategy. Compare comparable channels, contact types, and workload; track handle time alongside first-contact resolution, customer satisfaction or quality scores, and agent productivity. AWS defines handle time using interaction, hold, after-contact work, and task pause time; Microsoft recommends aligning KPIs to business objectives; Genesys cautions that shorter handling time can mean rushed, incomplete service. Local instrumentation and definitions vary.
